What it is:
A 3 day course that follows the HSE syllabus (revised 2009) for a full First Aider in the Workplace. The training will equip the first-aider to apply first aid to a range of specific injuries and illness in their specific workplace. This course is designed for employees who wish to be one of the organisation’s designated First Aiders
What’s covered:
- Understand the role of the first aider including reference to the use of available equipment and the need for recording incidents and actions; ;
- Assess the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency;
- Administer first aid to a casualty who is unconscious and/or in seizure i.e. DRABCDE
- Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR);
- Administer first aid to a casualty who is wounded or bleeding and/or in shock;
- Administer first aid to a casualty who is choking;
- Provide appropriate first aid for minor
- Soft tissue injuries
- Injuries to bones including suspected spinal injuries
- Chest injuries
- Burns and scalds
- Eye injuries including how to irrigate an eye
- Sudden poisoning and anaphylactic shock.
Duration: 3 days Certificate: Valid for 3 years (HSE approved)
Location: At your premises or at our training venue.
